Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz gold tequila
  • 1 oz Grand Marnier liqueur
  • 2 oz honeycrisp syrup
  • 1 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz maple simple syrup
  • 1 honeycrisp apple thinly sliced

Cinnamon Sugar Rim

  • Pure Maple Syrup for coating
  • 3 tbs raw sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • pinch of ground cardamom

Maple Simple Syrup

  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2/3 cup water

Honeycrisp Syrup

  • 2 honeycrisp apples peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • sugar

Directions

How to put together the drink (look below on how to make the simple syrups):

  1. Coat the rim of each glass in maple syrup using a spoon or parchment paper
  2. On a plate, stir together the sugar, cardamom and cinnamon
  3. Dip each glass in the sugar to coat
  4. Fill a cocktail shaker with the tequila, grand marnier, apple cider, simple syrup and ice and shake for 30 to 60 seconds until combined
  5. Fill a glass with crushed ice and honeycrisp slices and pour the margarita over top

Maple Simple Syrup

  1. Combine the syrup and water in a saucepan over medium low heat and bring to a simmer, whisking to combine
  2. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool completely
  3. Store in the fridge in a sealed container

Honeycrisp Syrup

  1. Place the apples and water in a saucepan and heat over medium heat
  2. Cook until the mixture is simmering and the apple is tender and begins to break down
  3. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor and puree until smooth and blended, then Strain over a fine mesh sieve into a measuring cup
  4. The amount of honeycrisp juice you have is how much sugar you need. If you have 1/2 cup, use 1/2 cup sugar. Equal parts. Place both the honeycrisp juice and the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is simmering
  5. Remove from the heat and let cool completely. Store in a sealed container in the fridge
